Carboxymethyl Cellulose (CMC) is a cellulose derivative where hydroxyl groups in the cellulose molecule are replaced by carboxymethyl groups. It is widely used as a thickening, binding, and stabilizing agent in industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics.
