It is widely used in industries such as textiles, agriculture, paints and coatings, oil and gas, paper and pulp, construction, personal care, cosmetics, household cleaning products, and pharmaceuticals. Its primary applications include serving as detergents, emulsifiers, pesticide formulations, adjuvants, degreasers, cleaners, metal cleaning agents, emulsifiers, dispersants, enhanced oil recovery agents, oil spill dispersants, deinking agents, pulp processing agents, concrete additives, shampoos, conditioners, lotions, creams, laundry detergents, dishwashing liquids, drug formulations, formulation additives, flotation agents, fat liquoring agents, and cleaning agents.

Store in a cool, dry place. Keep container tightly closed. Use with adequate ventilation. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Wear appropriate protective equipment. In case of spill, contain and clean up immediately.
