Sodium Hexametaphosphate (SHMP) is an inorganic polyphosphate salt with the molecular formula Na₆O₁₈P₆. It appears as a white granular or powdery substance and is highly soluble in water. SHMP is widely utilized in various industries, including food processing, water treatment, ceramics, and detergents, due to its properties as a dispersing agent, sequestrant, and water softener.
